MiDAS and PATS Training

Training courses are to be held at this location on the 1st Friday of each month month (numbers permitting).

Volunteer drivers who wish to drive for Basingstoke Community Transport or schools, clubs etc who wish to have their

own MiDAS qualified drivers should contact us on 01256 320501 for additional details.

The MiDAS qualification is a nationally recognised qualification which is becoming a mandatory requirement

for most county authorities.  The Scheme provides certificated driver training and assessment for minibus drivers.

It is organised by the Community Transport Association U.K. (CTA) which promotes a nationally recognised standard

for the assessment and training of minibus drivers.  It is a membership based scheme that has been designed to enhance minibus driving standards

and promote the safer operation of minibuses. MIDAS is applicable to any organisation operating or using minibuses.

Passenger Assistant Training Scheme is certificated training that aims to improve safety by providing skills

and information for passenger assistants (escorts).

It is designed for anyone who has care or supervision of passengers traveling by road - in cars, taxis, minicabs or large buses.

Applicable to volunteers as well as paid staff, it covers legal, practical and safety issues - and is a comprehensive training package.

It aims to improve passenger safety by providing

the skills and information for passenger assistants to understand and meet the needs of their passengers.
